Our meetings are Mondays at 1:30 at my house (contact me for directions), and we are planning a field trip for this hopefully in August, and another in September

RAK 'n Role Club

RAK stands for Random Acts of Kindness

For more information contact http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RAKnROLE/

This club will be student led and adult facilitated.  This is still in the preliminary planning stages.  I envision monthly meetings with the first meeting being a planning meeting for the students to decide on their monthly focus for each of the following months.  Then, they will choose projects specific to their monthly focus (military, elderly, children in need, homeless, infirm, etc.).  The RAK part of the club addresses the service projects and the Role part of the club addresses their creating a (or using a store bought) skit about various character traits applicable to the month's theme then performing the skit for others (details to be determined).  There is no fee associated with this club, but will require a participation commitment (attend at least 7 out of 10 meetings) and may have some costs depending on the service projects the students plan.

I encourage you to consider offering your own RAK Club if ours isn't convenient for you!  More RAK information is available at www.actsofkindness.org.
